Sounds like you have an access problem. It is simply too easy for you to access your money. Here is the best way I have ever found. Do not have a bank card or a credit card with you when you go shopping. Do not take any money with you when you go shopping. Do your shopping and make your choice. Then go to the bank. Take out that amount of money and then go buy what it is you need. If you only have enough to buy the goods you want you won't have the ability to buy extra on impulse. Most often between the time you make your choice and you get to the bank you will change your mind and the money will simply stay in the bank.

@hippyjoe1955 you're exactly right that's what's been happening. I'm going to try this method.

@SaraxKay It really really works. It takes a lot of resolve to leave the bank/credit card at home but if you want to save money that is the way to do it.
