Should christians be allowed to indoctrinate other people's children? [Spirituality & Religion]

A christian complained that a Satanist posted here attempting to draft young kids in. Is that really any different from what christians often do?

Every religion constantly wants to draw kids in and proclaim it's not fair other religions are doing it 馃檮

@Lilarianna Not all do. I know Wiccans, for example, are careful to not influence other people's children.

@suzie1960Sure, teenage girls are not children then? Cause it sure seems like they spread it like wildfire.
Religions are free to spread their information as far as they don't go against any of your rights. It's parental duty to shelter their children against influence if their wish is to raise their children in a certain religion or agnostic or atheist.

@kayoshin Not any Wiccans I know. Some people falsely claim to be Pagan or Wiccan, believing it's all about sex.

@suzie1960 Wiccan is witchcraft... correct? I've known loads of kids being persuaded to join ( mostly teenage girls) and of course children would be interested! Most of them believe in the magic of the tooth fairy and santa. My friends a Wiccan constantly doing rituals and all that from where I'm standing it's never actually worked though.

@Lilarianna I can see where you're getting confused. Wicca is a religion; witchcraft is a practice. True Wiccans are careful to avoid influencing children.

A belief in the Tooth Fairy and Santa is really no different from a belief in any other deity, such as the christian god for example. I've known christians to go through all the rituals (called praying) but from what I've seen that's never worked either, although some seem to think is has.

I'm not confused at all I know a lot about Wicca. Wicca is a Celtic practice that draws from the Old Traditions of Witchcraft. Wicca is a recognized religion, Thus, Wicca might best be described as a modern religion, based on ancient Witchcraft traditions. which would still make it witchcraft.

I completely agree with you. Christianity is nothing but a con.. I watched for years as they conned my nan out of money for church fixtures that never happened. Made her believe they were her friends while she did the fundraisers for the church and made snacks for their weekly tea and Christ service and when she became to frail they all forgot her.. no one phoned and no one visited apart from me and my family, despite the fact she'd donated 拢20. A week for 27 years, helped finance repairs for the church spend all her time helping them. So no to answer you, I don't believe there's a lad sitting on a big fluffy cloud with naked baby's flying round playing harps.

@Lilarianna I see Wicca and Witchcraft slightly differently so I wouldn't say Wicca is witchcraft. To me, that's equating a belief system with a practice.

I used to be a christian so I know what they can be like. All friendly when you're useful to them but they quickly turn against you when you're not.

@suzie1960 fair enough each to their own.. I'm just going off the origins of Wicca.

couldnt have described it better myself
