Teacher barricades himself in to classroom in a Georgia school and fires a shot - perhaps arming teachers is not such a good idea

I don't understand your wording. So he barricaded himself in a classroom. So was class going on or not? Or did he just barricade himself in and shoot himself in the head and kill himself or what?
