Are you opposed to "Toddlers in Tiara's"?

I most certainly am.

These events attract some of the most unsavory characters, in fact, it's like pandering to pedophiles.

It promotes a false set of values, basing the idea of attractiveness on physical appearance so that young girls not really pretty feel less valued than those who are.

I think mothers of these events are often living a youth vicariously through their daughters, also, the girls who don't win often feel they have failed to meet the unrealistic goals of their mothers.

I think mothers who do enter their daughters are irresponsible, I would like to see these beauty competitions banned. (until at least until age 18)...even then I think these events are outdated and ridiculous.

I always think of JonBennet Ramsey...
@PeanutsauntieP1982 I know, while I imagine the mother was innocent of foul play, she was horribly wrong putting poor Jon Bennet on display.

@Coyotedave611 No child should be put on display like that...interesting though that boys aren't subjected to that sort of thing
@Coyotedave611 I have followed the Ramsey case for some time. I have my own ideas about what happened. Sexualizing JonBennet certainly played a part in her death.
