I'm not sure what I was seeing, but I bought an old vanity, and it came with the added attraction of an occasional visitor using the mirror. She never did anything but look. I'm wondering, if she was seeing me, when I was seeing her and wondering what I was doing in her mirror, as I was wondering about her.

@Serenitree Is that visitor your own reflection?
Serenitree · F
@SW-User No. No one I knew. I thought she was a ghost of one of the previous tenants of the house where I lived, because I bought the vanity when I moved into that house.

But a couple of years later, when we moved, I took the vanity to the new place and the woman was still there.

She was someone from an earlier era, but not much earlier. I bought the vanity in 1966, when I was 22, from a used furniture store, and the woman looked to be in her late 30s or maybe early 40s and dressed in something like early 1950s style dress.

@Serenitree God. That’s extremely interesting. What was your reaction when you first saw her?
Serenitree · F
@SW-User I turned around and looked behind me, because I thought it was someone in the room. But there was no one there. I called my SO to come and see her. He wasn't phased. He said something to the effect of, Is she a friend of yours? Actually, neither of us was really disturbed by her presence. She never did anything. She was just there, and not all the time. Not like a shadow in the mirror either. She was very clear, and her dress was blue.

@Serenitree You should’ve kept the vanity and sold it on eBay. I would buy it. Haha.

@SW-User First, it was 1966 when I bought it. No internet. No eBay. Second, you'd have to know the circumstances under which I left that relationship. The vanity was the least of my concerns. That ghost was on her own. I've no idea what he ever did with it.
SW-User
@Serenitree I was just kidding. Sorry.
Serenitree · F
@SW-User Oh. Okay. I thought you were serious. I've had others suggest things I should have hung onto to sell, and I think, wow, I wasn't thinking about that while I was busy trying to support a family 35 years ago.
