Just talking to a friend about Camelot. How do you interpret this saying?

"Once a king, always a king, but once a knight is enough?"

a knight gave it all and he expected to die on the battlefield

[@610818,CollectBeautifulMoments] At times, the Queen benefited as well.
Once a knight?? I would be penniless by the week's end!! (Cheap rates on demand! Crêche facilities available!)
You either die or get too old to fight?

[@656163,Mushroomfaerie] It is, you are absolutely right and I apoogize if I sounded critical. I am, in fact, faced with the truth that I have far more years behind me than ahead of me, and that's not a very happy knowledge. On the other hand, I am too old to care what people think, and still young enough to enjoy the things I don't care what they think about. It's the best time of my life, no lie.
[@663519,Mamapolo2016] I believe you. We are all heading for the same place, nothing to be afraid of, just enjoy the moment

sexual innuendo perhaps.. a play on words knight / night

[@327737,Salix75] Every time I think of the above, I think the same thing. Buinevere should've stuck with Arthur. "_)

[@663519,Mamapolo2016] I was curious, so I googled it... this seems to be the consensus on what it means 🤷

[@327737,Salix75] Since it's usually accompanied by snickers, I think you're right.
