Why were the goats scared of me?

In Falakata when my grandpa took me to the Mahakalbari temple there were goats running and cows too on the field. I wanted to lift and adore the baby goats but I couldnt because as soon as I approached them, they ran away. They r faster than me. I was 16 that time in april 2017
