I was to different talk shows on the way home and for the most part school shootings is what was being discussed

What I don't understand is how this kid even entered the building. After Columbine my kids school district put mag locks on all of the doors. Every new school after has them incorporated into the design along with a few other safety measures that are for situations such as this and a few other safety measures.

I am just wondering when more school districts will incorporate some of the things we have here. Truthfully a school shooting is not that high on my list of concerns for my kids safety at school.

Yes it is tragic, I am NOT saying it isn't.

This is at my daughters school. Teachers and staff are trained and carry.

@SW-User my kids district has its own police department. With officers at almost every campus and the few that do not have a full time officer will have one or two that patrol. This district is a bit weird in its setup because it is in two different cities. By having there own PD for the schools there is no conflict on jurisdiction.

@SW-User are they city or school district? Reason I ask is the police on campus are from the MISD Police Department. They do nothing but work for the schools.
