Cause a shipment of heads and other body parts from American donorrs that got donated to science was intercepted on a Chinese cargo shipping container....

I won't be... Not since I found out that most bodies donated to medical science end up being used to practice plastic surgery on...

And why is that a bad thing? Plastic surgery isn't always about aesthetics, it's used a lot for people who were in horrific accidents.

@folks From what I was told it's mostly just rhinoplasty ops, so it is aesthetics

@Quizzical I still don't see the problem. You're still helping medical professionals ensure that they don't harm living patients when performing surgery on them. It's still for a good cause. I wouldn't donate it for other reasons (mainly how some students treat cadavers).
Maybe they had deviated septums @Quizzical.

@folks It's just not my idea of a 'good cause'. I think it's a frivolous waste.

@Quizzical Well, I respect your opinion. I recommend the book Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. Talks about all this stuff.

@folks I'll check it out some time 😊
Now THAT sounds like an interesting read, @folks. I hope it doesn't make you bored stiff. 🤣 Oy vey.

@Quizzical some of them go to dental schools...my friend said from the time I knew her in high school that she was going to be a dentist, and her mother told her when she was in college that they saved the heads for dental students and she decided to major in accounting.

@KayraJordyn Hahaha. Definitely didn't. Honestly, it's a scary good read.
Of course it's a scary good read, I just hope it doesn't scare me to death!
