Why do Windows "updates" usually mess about with my computer instead of improving things?

At least 95% of these so-called "updates" are anything but an improvement and they should be called "downdates". I almost always prefer the way it was before the so-called "updates" alter it.

Which sort of issues are you having?

I don't use any of the default programs of Windows 10 partly because of how MS handles updates.

I use Foobar2000 for audio playback, it has a ripping function when you try to open an audio CD.

Default installation cannot create audio CD but installing additional components is super easy.

On the main website, just click "Component" tab then look for and download "Audio CD Writer 3.0.3".

To add it to foobar2000, open preferences, select "components" category then drag and drop the file you just downloaded there or double click it or press install button then select said file so you have 3 easy ways of adding "Audio CD Writer 3.0.3" to it.

To burn a cd, just add files to a playlist or select the files you want from an existing list, right click them then it should be in "convert---->write audio CD".

It is compatible with with Windows 10, been using it since XP days. It's super lightweight compared to Windows media Player but it's only for audio files. For video, I use different programs.
