Why do Windows "updates" usually mess about with my computer instead of improving things?

At least 95% of these so-called "updates" are anything but an improvement and they should be called "downdates". I almost always prefer the way it was before the so-called "updates" alter it.

That's why they are called updates and not improvements, they update microsoft on what you've been doing
