Kurds

I don't understand why Bagdad doesn't give the Kurds a brake. They have punched way above their weight in defeating ISIS and defending themselves. Also, they have a good economy when given the chance. They are shit on by Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Syria all at once. Why?
