What is the point of striking up conversation with someone if you're only going to delete your account in the middle of it?

That’s one of the reasons why I usually don’t answer PM’s from folks who are unknown to me. I don’t want to invest time in a conversation that is going to end abruptly or take a turn in a direction I’m not willing to go.
