Scars remind us the past is real.

Unfortunately some scars never heal...and the past comes into the present when we are not ready for it.

Yes, but too bad they still hurt.

That's the best and the worst thing about them. So many scars, we'd like to just forget the past and how we got them, and yet, they are a reminder of what we've been through and survived... and that's pretty incredible.
