How many times would you hear a scream before you went to investigate?

if I heard a scream like a scream of someone in trouble I would grab my pistol and investigate ,
just hearing a scream would make me check it out ,,I would not wait for a second one ,,,maybe its someone snatching one of the teen girls around here that walk up and down the road talking on their cell phones .
or my Cousin into it with his wife ,
either way I would check to make sure no one was in trouble and needed help
