My parents read the books to me, not so long after they came out in the 1950s. Scared me to death. Read them later as a teen. I saw the first movie and wasn't interested. No, don't give your kids nightmares. Let them discover it on their own, or not.

@SW-User my son loves them I think he must of watched them around 8 times though it seems a lot more too me
