Regarding stupidity

Not taking into account the people with brain/mental problems that affects their ability to think: Are 'stupid' people stupid because they are like that, or because they chose ignorance rather than knowledge?

people are born with unique intellectual capacities - areas of strength and areas of need, potentials and limitations. there are many forms of intelligence as well. Some of it can be cultivated and enriched but everyone has a « ceiling » too. As hard as i study - I will never work for NASA even though i consider myself to be pretty smart. but someone who works for NASA might lack social skills or some other important facet of intelligence. Some people might say they are stupid but no one can argue that stupid people work for NASA
@NiftyWhite I agree with you. However, many do turn away from knowledge even before they tried, and they would never know if they could work for Nasa or be the next Michelangelo.

@PhantasmaMechanica depends on their interests. doesn’t make them stupid though. watch the movie Good Will Hunting - it’s roughly about that same thing .
Eh, thank you for the recommendation.
