Regarding stupidity

Not taking into account the people with brain/mental problems that affects their ability to think: Are 'stupid' people stupid because they are like that, or because they chose ignorance rather than knowledge?

I'd wager nobody thinks they're choosing ignorance. They're likely certain that what they believe is correct and the opposing belief is "ignorant".

@bijouxbroussard That is one way to look at it. However, there are some instances where some also say that they don't care or belittle themselves that they are stupid. My question arises from those circumstances.
