Are most charger ports on phones fixable?

About how much would it cost to fix or replace at a place on a 2 year old phone? I don't know what's wrong, but my phone won't charge it just turns on and the battery symbol shows up then it turns off so don't think I need a new battery.

How's the cord?if it's old, Get a new one.my phone is Samsung.its always the cord.

@Eddiesolds yeah I bought a new cord. Then a battery. Mine was the port itself.

@Eddiesolds I hadn't heard of it either. But after my new battery wouldn't charge I took it back and they tested the port. They wanted $80 and said it would take 2 days to repair. I have to have a phone for work so I just bought a new phone.
