Did you consider a boyfriend/girlfriend to be a spouse before you were married/engaged?

I knew the potential was there, but I didn't consider him my spouse until he proposed.

I cannot personally say, but my brother married a woman from E- harmony out of state and didn't really have any close relationship early on. I wouldn't call that a smart decision since now tensions exist.
