Why do we use the word heart for emotional purposes?

Like "heart VS brain" dilemmas or "you're in my heart" etc. I mean, it's just muscle and can only pump blood through our bodies. We are our brains.

Lol that's what I wondered for many years, and as far as I know all the world does this.. All I can come up with the fact that our heart beats faster when we see someone we love, so ancient people might've related it with the heart..Maybe?

@covfefe234 I guess that's why it's used that way 😛 but I try not to use such expressions. Yes, I'm THAT stupid 😂

@covfefe234 haha true but I'm yet to figure out why these are called hearts 😄 they should have counted another name

@HannibalAteMeOut another question arises here: why do they are drawn like that, they don't even resemble an actual human heart XD I agree upon that. Let's call them "kardia" deal? :P

@covfefe234 which ones, because they're both called that 😥

@HannibalAteMeOut I know, I just said to confuse you :P How about we call the actual heart "heart" and the ❤ "kalp" ? :D
