how to move on from someone you're obliged to keep in touch with?

@ThePenguin the person I love is a friend of mine. I told them how I feel about them but they clearly said that they can't reciprocate. I was heartbroken and I tried to stay away from them in order to move on...but they explicitly make efforts to remain in touch, nevertheless...and after a while I start feeling guilty for avoiding them...and I start thinking that "what does it matter if I meet them this weekend?" or "I can reply nicely to them if they ask me a question" and stuff like that....but I know that after those meeting and those chats, I feel very low and depressed for a long time cuz talking to them makes me happy and again it evokes my feelings and expectations of reciprocation from them...which is not possible. I know it's unhealthy for me to continue doing this, but I have nothing else to make me as happy as they do.

@ThePenguin what can I say...my logical minds knows that I'm not obligated...and when the time comes, even this person would understand why I can no longer talk to them.... it's just that..it would be very weird to suddenly not talk/meet them since we have very very close common friends (who have no idea about us)- they keep making plans to hangout- all of us and have made us all part of their groups on almost all social media...so I keep getting updates about them....and there's a limit to which you can avoid something that has become as basic as whatsapp.

no your logical mind doesn't know that. It wants to be with that person. You can try to just stay away from the whole circle for a few days though.
