Overwhelming Myself with Christmas

I got married in April and this is my first Christmas with my husband I have never been with anyone other than my parents for Christmas, and I don't know how my husband has spent Christmas in the past I think I am overwhelming myself in trying to make it perfect for him. I am playing all my christmas playlists, I am planning on making a gingerbread house with him we have watched Frosty the Snowman and we also watched A Christmas Carol. We aren't able to have a tree this year I am okay with that. I just cant wait till the 25th!
Make your own traditions. Tree or not get a Christmas ornament commemorating your marriage this year. You'll want to put that on future trees.
Yes I have ours. Have had it for 15 years@dragonfly46

For a man shall leave his mother and the woman shall leave her family and the two shall become one flesh. Time to start your own traditions and make them wonderful to your children. Many years ago we couldn't afford a Christmas tree so I made an cradle out of some scrap wood. We found some hay and put one of the daughters' baby doll in it then arranged all the other childrens' stuffed animals around the cradle. Then we hung a tinfoil wrapped 4 pointed star over the cradle. To this day that is the first decoration that is put up by the kids.
He’s a guy so more than likely he could care less, but he wants Christmas to be special for you. Have you asked him about his traditions? Maybe find out what he remembers about Christmas over the years. He might like a certain food his mother made, maybe they went to see Christmas lights...try to incorporate something for him. My husband loves roast potatoes with turkey at Christmas so I do mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and roast potatoes at Christmas.

Christmas is really fun with your partner if you have a tree and decorations and a great dinner together. You are going to have a great time and hopefully it'll get better every year.

@CruellaDeVil I'm sorry to hear that, I can relate since I've lost my partner so this will be my first christmas on my own.

@CruellaDeVil Thanks, we were together 22 years. You will have a great time though, it's so great, especially the first one together. It's just new and exciting.

I'm over all of that.

That's all very nice. But, how do you not know how your husband has spent Christmas in the past. That's usually something people would have covered while dating. Just curious....

@Wghtlvr We never really talked about it
This is a time to relax and do things together but you need to pace yourself.

What day in April may I ask?

Talk to him about it.
Say it's on your mind and you want to know what he thinks.
