just hit them...
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@psikeo No thanks. I did that last year. Totalled my truck. I kind of want to keep this truck in one piece. :)

Get some decent bull-bars. I mean, the moose will probably still fuck your truck, but the deer would not take it well :D

yes Its rutting season and wild life is doing what it does
we built in their yards not the other way around ,
They do make whistlers that you can't hear but they can that will warn them danger is coming and they will clear the road ,
they are easy to mount with double sided tape included .
They are not 100 % effective ,but I know the good ones work
the price of them is better then a dear in you lap and your car totaled
I know a lady who was in Montana USA ,Deer come through her windshield ,and busted her up pretty good ,,and the air bags went off adding to her injuries ,
When fall comes ,game is on the move ,putting on fat to get them through the winter ,and mating .
We do need to be more aware ,they only have a few things on their minds and looking out for cars is not one of them

@rckt148 oh yeah. I totally forgot about rutting season. LOL! Rutting isn't much on my mind lately.

@rckt148 Thanks, I might have to look into those whistles.😊
But I am quite familiar with wildlife rutting behaviours, having lived in rural Alberta for most of my life.
I've had plenty of 'near-misses' before, seen countless animals running out; or posing in the familiar stance, ready to jump; and even lying dead on the sides...but this weekend brought so many extremely close calls. People don't usually have that many close calls within such a short time frame.
But it might be well worth checking out the whistle idea. Thanks!

@ImpeccablyImperfect We have so over populated and built up so many cities and subs ,they are running out of places to be animals
Here we are having trouble with bears ,,in Northern Florida
I see deer ,turkey ,silver and red fox and wolves all the time .
but with cool weather and hunting season ,they graze along the roads at night ,
lots of dead yearling along the roads .
We have taken their homes ,and now people think they are the problem .
Good luck ,stay safe

That would indeed make me nervous. My dad used to say that if you drive long enough, you will eventually get into an accident and get a ticket. Years ago I had a gorgeous sage green Mazda. Unfortunately, it seemed to be a stealth car. It was either almost hit or actually hit on a regular basis. I even asked the University Michigan Institute for Traffic Safety and my auto insurance carrier if they kept statistics on colors of cars involved n accidents. They laughed, but if you were in my car at the time, it was really not a laughing matter. I grinned and beared it, and got over it. I still see nut cases on the road all the time. The deer and elk are another matter. During rutting season, one does have to be extra careful!
Happy you didn't hit anything.

@BaldAndBold Thanks...me too :)

Winters coming. They're moving to their winter feeding grounds. Maybe you could stop until the migration is done for the year. Unfortunately I don't know how long it goes on.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@Serenitree Yeah, it's a bad time of year. I hit a deer last year, at this time. 😣
clamenza · 56-60, M
Definitely think you’ve got luck on your side .
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@clamenza Hmmm....maybe that's why I didn't win at poker tonight? I needed that luck for the drive home? 😛
clamenza · 56-60, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect That was probably a better trade 😉

Be careful! We get kangaroos on our country roads at dusk.
