after I put all the hours of baby sitting a fire box so my smoked turkey comes out perfect ,I am happy to see how fast it disappears ,no left overs with my bunch ,,you better have your butt in line if you plan to get any of it .
The Family together for the sing afterwards is the part I love .
All of my kids ,my Grandkids ,my ex and her Mom and husband and tons of friends all singing ,giving thanks for all we have and glad we are the family we are .
I can smoke a turkey anytime ,even shoot one right across the street from my home .
Its the family thing I live for ,we can pig out anytime ,,
we celebrate all the birthdays in the month every month ,so big dinners are always a part of that ,but the big sings we only do like 3 times a year

@Autumnlover it is ,the 4th of July I go to Daytona Beach to play music for a bash with my cousins and other family members still alive ,
Then we have a place you can see fireworks from 3 cities and it on the water so you see the fireworks in the sky and on the water ,its awesome ,then we go back eat and jam some more (usually for at least 2 days )
But Thanksgiving is my favorite day
Christmas and Thanksgiving all my kids and grandkids go feed the homeless ,then they take food to the shut ins ,(we do not celebrate it the traditional way )
Then around 5 we start showing up to set up for the Jam ,set the tables for the meal ,
By 6 everyone is eating ,but 7 the mess is all cleaned up and we are on to the Praise and Worship ,,,We know we are blessed ,we all acknowledge how ,and each one of us lead a song ,,one to say how we feel
4 generations ,my ex mother in law and I sing precious memories and Beaula land together ,she is in her 80's

@rckt148 Your family is very special, but you know that, lol. My extended family gets together for Thanksgiving and Easter, although not on the actual holidays. Those days are spent with immediate family and church. When we get together as a group, there are 4 generations. Kids, young adults, middle-agers like me, and the few remaining great-grandparents who are in their 80's. My cousin who is in a Praise band at his church, always leads us in prayer.
