Can you forgive someone who has been unfaithful in your relationship?

I can forgive, but I couldn't take them back only because trust has been compromised and trust is foundational to a relationship.

I take pride in being faithful, makes me feel good.

I have forgiven them too. I feel partially responsible for their unfaithfulness.

I am not sure about the trust part. We hand it so easily when in love. We do it sometimes out of longing and desperation for losing or having control. Like a blanket to insecurities. Once disappointed, we again place responsibility on the other person unable to see we had a choice.
