Have you ever eaten at a restaurant by yourself?

I wish it was more socially acceptable to do that, because I'd totally eat at a restaurant by myself!

You can just say your date, a renowned Ornithologist, got an emergency call in the parking lot and had to go operate on a patient!
If anyone is rude enough to mention it!
