Is 'Jihad' a good name for a new baby boy ... ?

A couple in the South of France has been referred to the public prosecutor after naming their son 'Jihad'.
Authorities in the Toulouse suburb of Leguevin were immediately alerted after the child, who was born in August, was given the Arabic name.
The name is likely to cause controversy in France, which has suffered from a series of Islamic terrorist attacks by jihadists in recent years

Jihad has many meanings and many forms. It can also mean dedicating your life to science.

But considering the times, they shouldn't name their child something that causes him trouble in his life. If he chooses to have that name in the future, it's his freedom. People are ignorant. They wouldn't know the semantic variations.

It's pretty hilarious that people still name their children after General Degaul, he is responsible for killing over half million civilians in North Africa. No one mentions that. But they complain about people naming their children Jihad... hypocrites.

If you want to appeal to emotions, at least do it properly and pretend to care about terrorism committed by your own people.
