Has anyone who disliked Trump changed their mind about him yet??

I was just wondering if once a Trump hater ... always a Trump hater. :-)

Has he done anything worthy of changing people's minds? 3 blocked travel bans, 2 failed ACA repeal attempts, no funding for his wall, half his cabinet resigning or being fired, and gaffe after gaffe. Now a gold star family claiming he made a very disrespectful call to them.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Xuan12 Actually the family hasn't made a comment as of this morning.
FallenxShane · 22-25, M
@Xuan12 It's not his fault these things are being blocked, if it was up to the people, they would have been passed long ago
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
Do they have to renew it every day or something?
FallenxShane · 22-25, M
@Xuan12 Trump keeps pushing for it, because the American people want it, politicians don't care about that though, they will do what they think is right, not what the people think is right
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@FallenxShane Part of being president goes beyond just saying things, it comes to actually accomplishing them, even when they are beyond his direct power. He styles himself as a master dealmaker, but has lost many battles now for lack of support amongst his own party. Where are the masterful deals? To me, this is a lack of competence.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Xuan12 Yeah he is having a lot of trouble with his supposed own party.
FallenxShane · 22-25, M
@Xuan12 Dealing with other businessmen is easy compared to dealing with politicians, It's a lot harder to convince people they are wrong
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@FallenxShane Personally I think it's because he doesn't actually care that much. He was for most of his life, a democrat. Only changing a few years ago. He's not very involved in producing these bills or policies, and doesn't seem to invest much effort into getting them passed, I believe, because he doesn't care. Those were just things he said to get elected. He said he had a plan that would provide everyone with inexpensive, high-quality health insurance. But if such a plan ever existed, where is it? Why is he letting congress write a bunch of bills that fail instead of introducing his plan? May have something to do with his later statement that healthcare is much more complicated than he thought. There was no such plan, because he simply doesn't know enough to have formed one. Not surprising, because I doubt he's ever bothered to actually shop for a policy himself. He just has his accountant or somebody buy the best coverage on the market for him, and doesn't think twice about it. As you pointed out, he simply lacks any experience or expertise to help him accomplish these things, and I doubt he has the will to do it anyway.
FallenxShane · 22-25, M
@Xuan12 These are all opinions of yours, you can't back them up, I usually give a president around two years before I judge them as either good or bad. Everyone is essentially out to get him, and have publicly stated they will do everything in their power to oppose anything he proposes
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Xuan12 Like what @FallenxShane said... he is receiving opposition just because they don't like him. He is supposed to present congress with a blue print of a bill. Then it is up to congress to make it happen. He can't just go above congress.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@FallenxShane No, there is evidence of these. His voter registration for most of his life was democrat. And the authors of the failed repeal bills have spoken to the level of Trumps involvement, which is low. He's fond of offering encouraging words, but seldom provides substantive guidance or input. In one notable instance, he apparently offered a senator a ride on Air Force One in exchange for their vote, an offer which the senator found inadequate. My biggest stretch is believing that he doesn't care. Perhaps he cares quite a bit, but simply lacks the ability to act on it. Even if that's the case though, good intentions don't automatically materialize as good policy. Take the ACA for example.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@Dainbramadge Sure, he can't bypass them. But he made highly ambitious promises and assurances of how easy it would be. The master dealmaker would get it done, right? So far, not so much. I disagree with a lot of what he says, so it doesn't really bother me when none of it gets done. What's interesting to me is his supporters. I'd think they'd be more upset at him, and some are. At the very least, it must be disappointing so far.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Xuan12 You are right that it is disappointing. But I feel the problem is congress not Trump him self. He has... had.. some great ideas. They should have been passed into action by now. IDK... I guess he is still learning the field. :-)
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@FallenxShane So far in the first nine minutes months of his administration he has done little to unite the members of both houses of congress. He has been divisive almost the entire time.

I have not seen anything yet about his leadership that's appealing.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie He has his work cut out for him for sure. Actually he just was working with Nancy and Schummer on the health care stuff. It's a start. Gotta remember both dems and repubs didn't like him from go. So it will be hard for him to win them over.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge He criticized them both early on. I've only had two jobs in my life but I haven't seen any manager criticize a coworker. He has done that practically every day. Now he wants to work together? 🤔
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie Well can you really blame him??? They have been talking crap about him sense day one. They were having sit in's in opposition to him being pres. IDK.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge I would expect him to be an adult. Children fight back. There is a saying about turning the other cheek.

C'mon man
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie Ok... You're right.. maybe he should have been the bigger man being the Pres and all. LOL. I must say it is more fun when he isn't the adult in the room. LOL
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge Oh yeah! 😝 Did you see all the fun they were having tossing the paper towels around in Puerto Rico?
OMG you were jelly, right? Admit it.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie I did think it was some light hearted fun. You didn't see it like that??
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge I didn't. I really really think the President should always take the high road. Always! But that's just me.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracieI can't heart any thing more today. I reached my limit. LOL
But I do see what you mean. You do say often that you would prefer a more mature guy in his position. I myself kind of like to see the human side of him. Make him seem more like one of us rather than an untouchable being. :-)
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge 🤐 I will be silent now
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SimplyTracie No.. you have a right to your opinion. No one has gotten crappy about the others views. It is nice to be able to chat with some one who doesn't get their panties in a knot over differing opinions. Most people on here want to fight more than any thing. I enjoyed reading your views. Thank you.
