Why Do Americans Value A Piece Of Cloth So Highly?

Why do these morons think a flag means anything? I respect my country, but I don't cry about the flag. It means nothing ultimately. If someone shits on the British flag then whatever, they needed a shit. Is America so empty of real meaning that a flag means that much?

Because they’re brainwashed. They value fabric over values that actually matter.

@MsAnnThropy So those who care about their country and the symbol of it are brainwashed? I completely disagree with that careless statement.

@TexChik You need a flag to symbolise you? You sound brainwashed.

@MaryJo1996 The flag of my country is a symbol of freedom that I love and respect. It symbolizes so much more that someone like you couldn’t possibly understand
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
It's a piece of cloth...it symbolises nothing.
@TexChik To a point yes. It’s just a flag. If you believe that this flag symbolizes freedom, then let people freely choose how they want to view it. It doesn’t mean that they hate this country. Everyone has views that not everyone will believe in and as an American, we have that right. People keep saying that these protests are disrespectful. Yet they give no actual answer as to why. Or how.

@MaryJo1996 To you, some pompous kid that has no idea how to earn a living and no respect for the freedom your leaders are giving away
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
Literally can't judge me or my life...but thanks.

@MsAnnThropy sure they have given reasons, you just don't like or agree with them. There is a saying, "freedom isn't free" which is very true. Men and women have volunteered to fight for it against those who would threaten it or take it away. Being an American is a special privilege . Though we didn't ask for it we were born into it, inheriting it from those who did have to fight and die to preserve and protect it. That little girl MaryJo now lives in a country where Muslims claim the right to rape her on sight if they so choose because she is a non believer. England is allowing Muslims to enforce sharia law against its own people on its own soil, without so much a harsh word. That would never happen here. Protesting is a constitutional right, people have fought for our right to do that on our land by protecting the constitution. Sports stars Protesting the flag is an exercise in ignorance and hypocrisy. America can live without our football players, but we cant live without our soldiers and police officers. Colin Kapernick disrespected our flag and our soldiers because he didn't like the way blacks were being treated here...so he becomes a muslim. Muslim countries have 30 million blacks in slavery. Do you really think he cares about that?

Stopped reading when you said "being an American is a special privilege". It's not.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
Just read the rest....you are literally clueless and fucking stupid.
TexChik · F
@MaryJo1996 How would you know? your just a foul mouthed twit living off your parents. You are completely clueless .
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
I read what you said. That's how i know youre stupid.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
Also only had one parent since I was 4, thanks.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
Oh....and you meant "you're".
TexChik · F
@MaryJo1996 sure I can, your judged me and my country and the symbol of it, even after your ancestors got their asses kicked for doing the same thing.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
It's a piece of cloth.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@MaryJo1996 Actually, being American is a privilege, especially for anyone not born here. Even those born on American soil may lose citizenship under certain circumstances. We're not a perfect nation, but every day people move here, sometimes risking their lives to do so, to enjoy the freedom and opportunities we offer.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH Being alive is a privilege.
@StrictSouthernHOH Uh no. Being american is NOT a privilege.
