On a more serious note there was an outbreak of measles and someone with the measles had gone to a particular store while contagious. The warnings from the public health was for everyone to stay away from the store unless they were over 50 since those over 50 had had the measles when they were children. It seems the vaccinated ones were not immune to the measles after all.

@offingg Actually I have a very good idea of how it works and no not all vaccines are 100% effective. Measles and flu being two such examples.

Evidence for protection in adults aged 65 years or older is lacking. LAIVs consistently show highest efficacy in young children (aged 6 months to 7 years). New vaccines with improved clinical efficacy and effectiveness are needed to further reduce influenza-related morbidity and mortality". In other words the effect is extremely limited on the group as a whole while vast sums of money are expended trying to get people vaccinated. There was a recent court case where I live launched by health professionals to stop a condition of their employment being vaccinated for influenza. IOW the health professionals did not want to be vaccinated.
