Kids are so spoiled asking for the latest Smart phones aren't they?

@SweetMae Well that was really a good system....ring a bell get a phone call! That would be good in cold weather when you didn't want to go outside and walk over.

@cherokeepatti It was. We were all too poor to have phones.

@SweetMae Did you use a string that you waxed with a bar of paraffin or did you use a coated wire?

@cherokeepatti We used waxed string if I remember right.

@SweetMae That's how we made ours, with soup cans and waxed string. We also made crawdad hooks from bent straight pins and strung them with string and put a little chunk of bacon on them to bait them.
