Should I take my English teacher up on his offer?

He said if I ever need to talk about anything, I can talk to him.

Sure...as long as you're not alone with him at the time you confide in him. In the cafeteria during lunch time would be OK. NO alone time, ever.

@greenmountaingal I should talk about suicidal thoughts to him im the cafeteria? Why?

@fluteacorn From your screen name, I assume you would understand why alone time + intimate conversations would be a bad idea. It doesn't matter where, as long as there are people nearby.

Actually, from your screen name, I've wondered if you were a guy.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, you should definitely talk to someone about it, and your English teacher is better than not talking about it at all.

I suppose you've considered talking to a family member or the school counselor...?

@greenmountaingal
1. I'm a girl.
2. I don't trust family or my school counselor.
3. I was going throigh a difficult time when I ended up with this name.

@fluteacorn Then talk to your English teacher by all means. Not being alone with him makes you safe from the kind of complications that tend to happen in an intimate situation. You need a friend, not a love affair with your teacher. Suicidal feelings need support, not exploitation.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@greenmountaingal I can't talk about it with other people around.

@fluteacorn They don't have to be near enough to hear you. You could be sitting on campus somewhere with people in the distance. Pick someplace that offers some degree of privacy but where you are not alone only with him. A booth in a restaurant...? A park?
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@greenmountaingal It would be in the classroom

@fluteacorn If he is a good teacher, he will not want to be alone with a student and the school policy probably prohibits it. Find another way. Go for a walk with him and talk.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@greenmountaingal I can't though.

@fluteacorn You seem determined to be alone with him. If he is equally determined to be alone with you, please take care of yourself when you speak with him. He might be a good confidant and counselor. It sounds like you need that. But do yourself a favor and don't drift into a love affair with him, if he offers that. You need a kind, wise friend, not a potential exploiter.
