It's possible to be one and the other and decide which to be according to ones own determination of who and why, unless you lack the intellect and self composure required to do so.
My thought then on this is that being habitually one or the other is only half the equation.
There's still the issue of good reasoning and emotionally mature responses.
Not too common in selfish world.

@SteelHands I agree. There needs to be a balance of the two like another commenter made earlier.

@goneeee I would point out however that my understanding is that the entire premise of excessive or profound deficits of emotion are much rarer than commonly thought.
That the new science of psycho-meddling and theraputic or chemical means had done more to damage human feelings than it helped.
Drugs and alcohol and other obsessions condoned by these professionals was always known to screw people up, even by the "discredited" Sigmund F.
2000 years ago Jesus pointed out that someone wrote down things based on their biased personal emotion. It's still as true today as it was then.
People can become very entrenched in what they think is true because of their feelings, or lack thereof, about something.

@SteelHands Good points. Thank you! I know drugs can do a lot of damage. I was on pain pills for several months a couple of years ago. When I stopped taking them, I developed the worst case of anxiety. It took a week to feel better again. I only use whole food supplements now. They are safe and no side effects!

@goneeee Good to know. It really is amazing how many things in our environment can and do color emotions.
You know, I was reading somewhere years ago about the testimony given before the Senate just before they decided to put sodium fluoride in the water supplies of western cities.
So I imagine it's impossible not to have at least some things effecting us. All the more reason to work at avoiding contact with things that throw emotions off kilter.
Good talk. Interesting stuff. I'll keep that med thing in mind next time I need a root canal. Lol
