No the real IRA of the 1916 era were freedom fighters,but the ones who used the initials in the 70s n 80s were just thick ignorant gobshite because it hasn’t had the desired effect,they are still colonialists,still British citizens,don’t possess an Irish birth certificate nor Irish baptism certificates n don’t have an Irish revenue number(rsi no) n don’t contribute to the state via taxes nor vote in Irish elections,so 30 odd years of conflict just to prove their still British,so for the British colonialist in Northern Ireland they are seen as terrorist n to everyone else just fools

One nations terrorists are another nations freedom fighters.
Depends which nation you stand in, that allows you to give them the title.

Both. Let's not forget during the American Revolution the redcoats lined up to fight honorably and we hid in the trees and bushwhacked them.

At the core they are freedom fighters but in everything there is an extremist element that can turn them into terrorists
