Have you ever had sleep paralysis?

It's terrifying. After every time it happens, I always think that the next time can't possibly be that bad, but it always is. Each time is just as bad as the last. I'll wake up in the middle of the night, and I can't move. There are voices whispering in my ear and a face always appears on my ceiling. Every single time, it seems real as ever even though there's nothing there.

I have CPTSD nightmares and flashbacks, so it makes me insomniac and every few weeks I get sleep paralysis because of my messed up shedule. I noticed on months when I sleep on time and enough hours, I never have it.

The worst part is that I press my teeth together and once it is over, my jaw will be in lot of pain.

Did you see a doctor about it and did/do you all their suggestions?

@Miram Sleeping in different rooms, different positions, sleeping earlier, sleeping later. It's random when it happens. It's not based on my stress

@Jj2k00 do you excercice? Do you have heavy meals before bed? Did you try meditation before sleep? Did you discuss your options with your doctor? Medications that is.

Yes, no, yes, yes. I want to get a polysomnogram soon
I've experienced sleep paralysis a few time. It seems to correlate to stress for me.

I hate sleep paralysis myself. I have not experienced much of it lately, but when I do, it is most unwanted. Like you, I see, feel and hear things/people that aren't there. When this happens, the brain is between sleep and wakefulness, while the rest of the body is still asleep. I resort to wiggling my toes in order to wake up properly.

[c=#BF0080]Yes, it's very scary. Are you taking any meds? Sometimes certain ones can cause them, but I think it's rare. A muscle relaxer caused mine. [/c]

@MellyMel22 No I don't take anything

@Jj2k00 [c=#BF0080]Hopefully it calms down. I'd see a neuro though. [/c]
