PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@schorschlandmann lol.. those came along much later! 😊
schorschlandmann · 41-45, M
@PerfectIllusion yes very loooooong shortly after I came along.

Carver · 31-35, F
Oh yes. From a long time ago. 😁
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@Carver I wonder when they quit making them?
Carver · 31-35, F
@PerfectIllusion I'm not sure but it had to be around the time when I was a kid because as I grew up, I stopped seeing them around.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@Carver me too. I saw this on fb and it brought back a ton of memories!
Danez · M
hahaha yeah they were the first ever Virtual 3D... these days you put your cell phone on a viewer for the view
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@Danez 😂😂 My first one was red and weighed 10lbs..lol
Danez · M
@PerfectIllusion yeah they would never be made to last like that now
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@Danez no way. I'm sure it would just be cheap plastic!
SW-User
Yes. Wow. It's been a while.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@SW-User lol.. it made me feel 👵
fun4us2b · M
Yes! I even had them long enough for my son to use them...there's a small chance it's in my attic....
fun4us2b · M
@PerfectIllusion Lots of things like that, like my Lionel Trains...I think after college, my parents probably asked me if they could give certain things away, and I just said yes, thinking - whatever....
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@fun4us2b Without ever thinking they might be worth money now. I can think of a few things I wish I still had.
fun4us2b · M
@PerfectIllusion He may not care now - but a good thought not to repeat the same with my sons treasures!
I remember them, but I don't have any around anymore. If I do it's at my old house in the storm proof storage.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@MsAnnThropy I don't have mine. Wish I did
ListenAndLearn · 26-30, M
I know places that still sell them. Blew my mind when I was 8.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@ListenAndLearn Bet they aren't as good as the old school ones.
ListenAndLearn · 26-30, M
@PerfectIllusion doubt it; I usually see them at small tourist destinations around the state. Usually cheaply made.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@ListenAndLearn yea, they look like junky plastic!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Had a few and they were fun, probably one reason I wanted to travel...
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@cherokeepatti I loved mine!
SW-User
Yes I remember those lol
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@SW-User lol.. idk if that sounds better or worse! 😂😂
SW-User
@PerfectIllusion gotta be better than old right? 🤔
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@SW-User lol.. ok you win! 😛
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Yes. View finder
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@MrBrownstone Yes! I was one of my favorite toys!
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@PerfectIllusion I'm sure you could find one on eBay.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@MrBrownstone I bet but it wouldn't be the same as my original!
HoraceGreenley · 61-69, M
I'll bet they are worth some money today.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@HoraceGreenley I was thinking the same thing and then I got depressed! I could be rich! Lol
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Yes I remember it well. It was called the Viewmaster.

Mines was the original model passed down from my mother from the late 1940s.

All the other kids I knew had that really modern model C with the metal front.

XD
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@SteelHands I had a medal one and a plastic one. I remember both of them.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@PerfectIllusion Something to do on a rainy day. Bent disks torn popped out frames and finally dropping it and cracking the bakelite probably went in the donation pile or rubbish.

It wasn't the most durable thing to let small kids play with. I had younger siblings and cousins that finished it off.

Yep. Lots of fascination in that little toy for we who played with and fought over who got to look through it. lol

@Fishing65 so much fun!
shuhak · M
Ah, Viewmasters. We had nearly 1000 discs (circa late 1950's to mid 1960's), 2 viewing devices and 1 screen projector.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@shuhak I had a ton of the discs too. Oh, I remember always wanting a screen projector but never got one.
shuhak · M
@PerfectIllusion I gave it all to my brother when I cleaned my shed a few years back (he collects antiques)
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@shuhak I bet it's worth some money now!
Raymuundo · 46-50, M
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F

PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
@YoMomma I had hundreds of these. The Disney ones were my favorite! I'm sure you probably could. They're probably vintage! 😂😂
YoMomma ·
