WASHINGTON — The House passed a $788 billion spending bill Thursday that combines a $1.6 billion down payment for President Donald Trump's controversial border wall with Mexico with a whopping budget increase for the Pentagon.
Certainly wouldn't want to pay for healthcare. Even if the party is in cahoots to overturn Obamacare. They [Republicans] then celebrate how McCain is back from medical emergency, and suddenly, there is hope the guy receiving state funded medical care will help take away medical care from people. Makes a lot of sense.... but what do I know, I'm just a Canadian, socialist by design apparently.
Aren't conservatives supposed to cut spending?? And why should people who aren't living in border states pay taxes for a wall that will do nothing except destroy foreign relations?
@Insomniac100 I currently own 47 houses that I paid cash for. We helped build the economy. We earned our Social Security benefits. We also fixed the economy.
@SW-User Everyone does not pay taxes. Why should we pay more? Do we get more benefits than others? We don't. We pay way more than our fair share.

Gee, I was raised where the right thing to do was to help those who are less fortunate....I'm sorry I just don't understand your mindset ... @TheProphet
I think this still has a long way to go. I don't see it passing the Senate as it is now.
Amazing that they included a down payment on the phony wall. But don't I remember hearing someone go on and on about Mexico paying for it? He wouldn't have been LYING about that, would he?
The line item that jumped out at me in this one was a $29M increase for Capitol Police so they can all be safer. There are even more funds for their personal security.
Transgender people were "banned" by Trump because, he says, the cost. OK. That's about $9M a year. But they'll add $29M to protect their own asses AND add $72 freaking BILLION more for defense.
