When you go on road trips...

What DON'T you take with you?

Me its a GPS, I hate them things. I feel like they are spying on you and they make you lazy.

Someone once told me years ago that they take out their spare tire to make room for more stuff.

I'm like WTF, what's wrong with that person.

I need a GPS because I drive to different places for a living, also having traffic info is too useful

Never going to get rid of my spare tyre though, even buy a new (used) car based on if it has one

Also, I do Geocaching and having a track of the route I have walked stops me getting lost and allows me to backtrack to safety if I go the wrong way
That person is a little broken and likes too much added flavor in their adventures.

I dont call it GPS, I call it my phone. And I take it. I get lost with directions too.
I dont usually take snacks.
Always bring something to drink, multiple things really. Never soda.
Audio books.
And hopefully someone who will enjoy the trip with me, butt hats a lot more difficult than it should be.

Well now you ruined it for my next post. What is the must have bring along for a road trip?

Still going to post it.

When i was a kid, i would sit in the backseat with that road atlas and just follow along the roads we were driving. Now i get screamed at that by a lady.....proceed to the route.

@JackDaniels Did she try turning it off and back on again???

My mother once went to Blackpool... got all the way there and they decide to unpack - only to realise that their suitcases were still at home in the parlour.

This was a long long long time ago to. I was still on my first marriage back then

@HumanEarth I still don't think you'd have liked cell phones and other modern tech back then, even if you were raised with them.

Your right, well I kinda liked computers back 40 years ago. Back when the internet was new and the personal computer was new. Then that was neat to me

I travel my motorcycle much of the time, just to travel lite.
My bed. Unfortunately.

I rarely use GPS. Getting lost is half the fun. 🙂

@OlderSometimesWiser If the trip is about the journey rather than the destination, I agree completely. I do sometimes use paper maps rather the gps app on my phone. I’ve found some of the cutest little backwater towns, stores and restaurants while being lost.

I don't take my neighbours, I'd be tempted to leave them somewhere
