I wish for all of you the experience of the day you retire and get to sit at home in the rain looking out the window, enjoying a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate and sticking your tongue out at those who rush by on their way to work! It's worth every minute you spent getting to that moment. 馃榿

Years ago I was talking to an old contractor who joked about someone asking him what it was like to be retired. His answer was something along the lines of "I never retired, I just never had a job".

I can't say that, I remember what it was like going to a place I hated and wondering what new thing would go wrong that day. It's been over a decade since I last "had a job" and I hope I never have another one. That said, I'll probably die working.

@robb65 Retiring doesn't equate to not being busy... retirign means you will be as busy as ever, or busier, but doing exactly what you want instead of what someone else wants.

Every day I can be, I'm gonna be behind the wheel of my truck in route to the next place I've not been before.

I'm glad I retired last year (this was my first full summer of retirement) but wouldn't stick my tongue out at anybody who has to work 馃檪 I had to do that for long enough.

How dare you 馃槫

@SW-User It will be a while for you, just have patience.
