Why do some people send gifts here marked as private?

If It's marked public, would presidents of the world start wearing tutus and dance the ballet?

I keep mine private because its nobody's business what a friend writes to me whether its goofy, endearing or silly. For my eyes only.

@Blondily I was referring to people who mark the gift as private before sending it out. Not about hiding the wall of gifts in profile.
