Australian Road Sign

This is in South Australia on the Eyre Highway on the Nullarbor. I have seen all three of these critters on roads here.

Nearby, in the Yorkshire Dales, you may encounter those road signs, mainly in Fall/Autumn when high winds are blowing from the North...

@Stephie We don’t do Fall down under....or tip cows.
Stephie · F
@KiwiBird Of course you don't. You have no mountains except perhaps for the Uluru 🤔
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@Stephie Uluru is Rock.

Mount Kosciuszko in NSW is 2,228 meters (7,310 feet) and the highest peak on mainland Australia

@KiwiBird Sound like a name that could be Polish but I see that you also have that white fluffy stuff one can find in the freezer.

Mount Kosciuszko is named after the Polish national hero, Tadeusz Kościuszko. Polish explorer Paul Edmund de Strzelecki named the mountain in 1840, in honor of Kościuszko, due to its perceived resemblance to the Kościuszko Mound in Kraków, Poland. Kościuszko was a military leader and revolutionary who fought for Polish independence and also participated in the American Revolutionary War.
