Roads: where have the best and worst roads been?

Of the roads you have experienced with the best and worst roads been?

Best: North Carolina, I just don't remember having any issues there

Worst: Pennsylvania, lots of pot holes and construction takes absolutely forever and seems like they never get anywhere.

Best would be somewhere in central Europe. I was on the bus for 12 hours Berlin to Budapest and didn't even see a pothole.
Worst were probably in Kythera, it's a greek island. I trust my dad's driving but I genuinely thought we wouldn't make it sometimes. Dirt roads on cliffs with really unpredictable turns and without any railing.
But greek roads in general. You wanna die in a car accident, come here.
