I Love the Open Road

Before retirement I drove for a living. Ten years were long haul over the road and the rest of the time was local delivery. Long haul for the most part was a great job, something different every day and I got to travel in all the lower 48 states. The different places I got to go we’re more than most people could imagine going in a lifetime. The drawbacks were being alone 80-85% of my time, driving in bad weather, and also ever increasing government regulations. The sunny days, beautiful scenery, and being able to take my wife with me once in a while made it a great job. The hassles were no more than one would expect in most any line of work. A lot of drivers like to say that they are paid tourists.

I drove in Western Canada for a few years. Lived the Rockies, except in the winter time. Pulled Super B, chained up too many times.

@Hatt94 I hated chaining up!
