I Love the Open Road

The open road, the fresh air wafting in through the opened windows. A liberating feeling of freedom as the scenery passes by. Meeting new people, experiencing new things, these are all part of traveling through the country. I love traveling on the open road. Seeing much of the United States this way, I can't wait to see even more of it. When you travel by plane, sure you save time, but you miss so much. Traveling by train, still doesn't give the same experience. It is the adventure the open road holds, with its endless possibilities.

@hippyjoe1955 Love the photo, where was that taken?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@MaladyRed Western Canada heading east about sundown. The photo doesn't do it credit as just moments before the whole mountain had a golden glow. Couldn't get the camera out fast enough. lol

I thought it was Canada, was this near Vancouver B.C.?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@MaladyRed No the mountain is on the Alberta BC border about a thousand kms north west of Vancouver. It is in Jasper National Park

@hippyjoe1955 Oh...okay. Then this is closer to Banff.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@MaladyRed Yes north of Banff along the continental divide.

@hippyjoe1955 It truly is beautiful country there. I've been to Revelstoke, Banff, Calgary and Vancouver Canada myself. It takes a little bit to get used to the metric system there.

@MaladyRed Yes it is truly picturesque. I love the prairies to the east of the mountains. You can watch your dog running away for three days and still have a good shot at him.

@hippyjoe1955 Wow what gorgeous scenery !

@melbeacher It can get rather spectacular at times. Sadly I missed an earlier shot when the mountain was wreathed in golden light. That was spectacular.
