Message From Beyond
Beyond the usual, there has been taken a leaf, and i turned it, the leaf has turned either that or i turned and the leaf stayed put, so that the side of the leaf that i used to see is the other side of the side of the leaf that i now see, and from that position i say these extremely important things, for the weal of humankind.
My dad says that i must be careful in sharing this, because there could be an investigation that would end me up in a mental hospital, and then no one would be there to take care of him. He took a fall on the ice a few weeks ago, and i've had to take on more responsibilities, that's the turning of the leaf referred to above.
There are some things that will never change, my trinity of interests, which if any of you lovely people hear about, and anything from me from 2 others, it's because they're good friends whom i communicate with, and i have given them the option to send these highly important messages to you all.
One of the things i'm reading is Robert A. Caro's monumental 4 volume biography on Lyndon B. Johnson, who was not so good of a president, and sits proudly in my kindle library alongside such luminaries as Josef Stalin and Adolf Hitler. I also have a chunky 1st volume of a trilogy on Theodore Roosevelt, as it was on sale.
Most of the books i have, i'm extremely proud of having, and there's no time for anything else but to read them, but i have to diversify for the sake of mental health, i also need high concept tv series from such services as Apple TV Plus that has a show called Severance, and wow what a beginning where this lady ontop of a conference table in an empty conference room awakens to a voice on the intercom asking her 5 questions and when she could only answer one of them ends up with a perfect score, and then it goes with a sniffling businessman who has a long walk in an office building to his work station.
I take lots of breaks, cuz that's the neat thing about tv shows, they're like books, and the way i read books is a little at a time, but sometimes i watch more than 2 episodes of something especially gripping like House of Cards with the disgraced Kevin Spacey, and that show's topic and how it does it is superb for today's world, how American Politics works now is probably way different, but i don't think an accurate depiction of the now is possible, and even if it was, it's too annoying to contemplate. I think that to think about the current, one must learn from history, that's why it's there, to learn from.
