I went twice there, I loved walking among the ruins and ear the birds singing. Ewloe castle is a Welsh native-build castle built after 1210. It sits in a hollow amid deep woodland and located in a contested territory where the English and Welsh frequently clashed. Due to the lack of records from the period, the castle’s history is a little murky.
