Would you ever go Spelunking / Cave Diving?

I hear stories like the one below, and it sounds like an absolute nightmare.

At the same time, the idea of exploring these subterranean areas that may have never been seen by human eyes before - I understand the appeal / excitement.

Still - probably not for me!

@Gangstress It seems like most accidents happen because people go in unprepared. Definitely worth making sure you know your limits and what you’re capable of

@Ethannuel yeh exactly that. I dont know why anyone doesnt do research first or train.
Like before i went on long hikes i prepared by doing intense cardio for 3 months. That way i knew id gather the muscle to climb

@Gangstress Nice! I’m a little less prepared than you it seems.

I hiked Ben Nevis a few years back - I didn’t do any prep, and it was an 8 hour hike there and back.

I definitely felt it the next day!

@Ethannuel haha yeh we did snowdonia a few years back but did it after a 12 mile cycle. It broke me lol
But we do a lot of cliff walks which helps. I really recommend it. Especially the inclines. Really works the lower half lol

@Gangstress North Wales is lovely! So is Scotland.

During Covid, a lot of people were angry they couldn’t go abroad . But it’s like, there’s plenty of places at home that are really nice.

@Ethannuel completely agree. We discovered some awesome places through lockdown
