I Astral Travel
This is just a brief explanation of different types of protection you can have/use while Astral traveling/projecting:
The best protection I've had were my spiritual guides and allies. As far as physical items are concerned, I use crystals such as onyx and obsidian. I also have a physical wooden sword that I bring with me for protection. All of these physical items have a spirit and can accompany you into the Astral.
There's also wards, sigils, protection runes, and/or various herbs that you can have in your room that set up a better protection for your work space.
Finally, in terms of spiritual allies, this can mean angels, fae folk, deities, elementals, etc. They can protect you while you travel as long as you have good faith between you and these spirits.
