Where you live, is there something tourists like but locals don't?

I live in Northern Norway, and we have tourists coming to experience polar nights or the midnight sun. While it might be cool for tourists, the locals themselves tend to dislike these times of year, as it's difficult to sleep with the midnight sun and depressing af during polar nights.

Is there anything like that where you're from? Something tourists like but locals dislike.

I live in the Arabian Gulf region where temp during summer goes up to 55 degrees, sometimes more..
Tourists from Europe, mainly your side of Europe, usually come to enjoy the heat and sunbathing during summer, while locals really hate that weather and that time of the year..

Yeah, we have the reverse, people love the snow who don't have to live in it. It's nice when it's something exotic, only seen briefly and easily escaped from. It's not so nice when it takes 2 hours to dig out your car and you have to get to work.

@crossproduct: yeah I can imagine that.. it's kinda annoying when you see people enjoying something that you actually suffer from.. this is life though

@crossproduct: I am Canadian too btw.. Torontonian... but been living in the Arabian Gulf since 2001. Last time I visited Canada was in 2009

@meemo70: cool, so you know the drill 🙃 To be honest, I'd probably want to see what 55 degree weather is like because I've never experienced temperatures like that before.

@crossproduct: yep. I know the drill.
Trust me, you won't enjoy the 55 degrees.. you may like it at the beginning, but after few days or weeks, you'd hate it.. specially when it comes along with 80% humidity!!

@meemo70: Oh yeah, I wouldn't want to live in it for sure
